EyeBuyDirect.com is an online prescription eyeglasses retailer that serves customers throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
Its primary intent is to offer prescription glasses and frames at more affordable prices than traditional brick and mortar shops. The site was launched in 2005 by Roy Hessel.
The retailer features a virtual dressing room titled "EyeTry," which launched during a September 2007 redesign of the site. "EyeTry" enables online browsers to upload a photo and virtually experiment with thousands of frame and color selections. The selection can then be posted to Facebook or the site’s own social network, "The Wall of Frames," so that shoppers can ask friends (or strangers) for opinions on which glasses look best on them. According to Hessel
McDonald’s rolled out a fun little experiment in Sweden recently when it released 3500 virtual reality headsets – which were actually Happy Meal boxes that could be folded and transformed into VR headsets . It was a novel way of introducing... The look of the Happy Meal VR boxes recalls the old View-Master glasses some of us might have owned as children. Appropriately enough, the company behind View-Master, Mattel, has been busily updating the old View-Master experience by developing a virtual reality version. The idea of VR is to immerse the user in a life-like digital environment, giving the user an artificial or virtual experience of reality.
The complex not only holds the library, where they go to warm up or cool down, keep in touch with loved ones on Facebook or get some help on finding a job, but also holds the municipal court and gives them a place to catch the bus. The city will clear the block to make way for a hotel and conference center, one of the many pieces of a plan to give downtown Greeley a chance to grow even beyond the revitalization the area's experienced in the past few years. The city plans to move the library and municipal court a half-mile south into temporary buildings. The library will be half the size of the Lincoln Park Library now. Llamas, and many like him, worry when the building and bus station go away, the gathering place will disappear with it. "For a while, it will be a swarm of bees with no beehive," Llamas said. The library is perhaps the most noticeable piece of a larger problem.
