"Cheap Sunglasses" is a 1980 single by ZZ Top from their 1979 album Degüello. It is one of their most famous songs and includes the use of some odd instruments. The song captures many of the sounds and beats that ZZ Top is famous for. It is also featured on the greatest hits collections ZZ Top's Greatest Hits, Chrome, Smoke & BBQ and Rancho Texicano. In addition, a live version of the song appears on Chrome, Smoke & BBQ and Rancho Texicano. The rap duo EPMD sampled "Cheap Sunglasses" on their song "You're a Customer."

It’s larger and nicer venue than we’ve been playing, and we had a good turnout, with a whole a bunch of people coming to help our drummer Gus celebrate his birthday, and a few of my friends, including Nick, who came all the way from Long Island... Gus is back to playing his regular drums, which helps the sound alot. Also, last week I finally got my Mark VII sax in for a final adjustment. It took Virgil only a few minutes of fiddling with the various bits of cork around the keys of the upper stack. Now it’s playing totally great. I have all the tone and growl that I really love, plus a great clarity in the low end, even playing very softly. I’ve been enjoying hanging out with Virgil, he’s got lots of stories and lots of knowledge on musical instruments.

The sophomores headed to the back seats while the freshman filled in where they could, such was the hierarchy of the junior varsity baseball team. I was a freshmen splitting time at first base and trying to get used to not playing all the time. I still had hopes of being able to play in college, but I didn’t think my life was all about baseball. I thought that I was willing to do whatever it took to win, but looking back as an old timer now, I didn’t take the game nearly as seriously as some of the other guys. One of those guys was named Pete. The back seat was his throne and the boom box was his staff. Besides being a team leader, Pete was also the self-appointed DJ, which meant a steady diet of classic and southern styled rock.
