The first retail store was established in 1924 in New York City. The brand name “Cohen’s Fashion Optical” was originally founded by Jack Cohen in 1926. In 1927, Cohen started to sell a wide variety of eyewear from a pushcart in Orchard Street, New York. Cohen's is a franchise operated company since 1978. In 2008, the estimated annual revenue was $121 million. Cohen’s Fashion Optical was the first to offer on-premise eye examinations with qualified Doctors of Optometry.

If New York City didn't have enough to offer to visitors and locals alike, score one more. Between 13 and 15 March NYC will be the scene of one of the hottest jewelry trade event: JA New York. JA New York takes place three times a year in New York City at the Javits Convention Center and according to its official web site brings over 500 exhibitors from all over the world to show off what they can do in the 'twinkle-twinkle' department. After an hour my head was spinning and I was so, so, soo ready to see those amazing baubles in person that I even looked at AA. com to see what is the availability for a last minute flight to JFK. but I will sure keep an eye on the show's score card. I looked into some of the exhibitors and here are some amazing pieces that I think will be on the "new trends" lists for the next few seasons:.

opens with Jonas Jonasson’ relentless, throbbing music as we see a SWAT team quietly surrounding the suburban neighborhood in Arizona, USA. Despite that pulsating sound, we do feel a poetic calmness, while looking at the film’s protagonist Kate Mercer ( Emily Blunt ) cruising in the bulky SWAT vehicle with her Kidnap Response Team. The faces of the team members sitting inside that brooding vehicle glistens when sunlight streaks in subsequently followed by enshrouding darkness. A little later, the brooding silence lying beneath that pulsating background music paves way to nauseating violence as the SWAT vehicle bulldozes through the suburban house, taking down its gun-toting residents.
