Eyeglasses Ear

A contralateral routing of signals (CROS) hearing aid is a type of hearing aid that is used to treat unilateral hearing loss. It takes sound from the ear with poorer hearing and transmits to the ear with better hearing.
Systems can involve two behind-the-ear units connected either by wire or by wireless transmission. There are also systems incorporated into eyeglasses. BAHA CROS systems use the conductivity of the skull to transmit sound.

It was on a cold and rainy day at the end of January that I climbed the steep steps to Grace Cathedral for the memorial service of San Francisco icon and refined clothier Wilkes Bashford. He died on January 16th and his eponymous luxury store had just celebrated its 50th anniversary. The store has been a landmark for me since I first moved to San Francisco in the 80's. While it was too expensive for my freelance writer's pay, no one seemed to mind me indulging in going from floor-to-floor and soaking up the beauty of the... When I finally did have enough money, I headed straight to the shoe department which had fabulous sales and over the years I bought Jimmy Choo boots and heels, Manolos, Louboutin kitten heels, Lambertson Truex boots and Gravatti boots and shoes.

In using such information or methods you should be mindful of your own safety and the safety of others. (Optic) Check visual acuity (with eyeglasses or contact lens correction). Test the visual fields by confrontation, i. e. , by comparing the patient’s visual fields to your own. As a screening test, it is usually sufficient to examine the visual fields of both eyes simultaneously. individual eye fields should be tested if there is any reason to suspect a problem of vision by the history or other elements of the examination, or if the screening test reveals an abnormality. Face the patient at a distance of approximately 0. 6–1. 0 m (2–3 ft) and place your hands at the periphery of your visual fields in the plane that is equidistant between you and the patient.

Lend Us Your Ears: The Best Music for the Clamored Masses

“Alexa, Play Justin Bieber!” It’s the OZY office’s Thursday dance party, and apparently this Justin Bieber is what constitutes a “favorite” for folks who I’m not entirely sure aren’t just being deeply, and perhaps a little darkly, ironic. There’s a bubbly bounce to Bieber’s boy-to-man neo-postmodern take on R&B, but it sounds to me like Coke. As in Coca-Cola. Or McDonald’s. Entertainment in small packages. You know, there’s time and a space for everything, but rarely do I have the time or...

Eye docs versus ear docs

I hope that this article is not misleading. I am not writing about doctors who take care of the ears or doctors who give eye care. More importantly, I hope to relate the importance of ear doctors who listen and take a good medical and social history from a patient versus the eye doctors who just want to review the laboratory and diagnostic results without listening and performing a thorough examination of the patient. When I was in medical school, and also during my residency in medicine,...

Art - The Eye and The Ear (Franciszka & Stefan Themerson, 1945)

"Pier Paolo Pasolini, the Italian director, has always been something of a puzzle for American critics, not simply because we have to reconcile his announced Marxism with what appears to be a kind of reformed Christianity (as reflected by the neo-realistic "The Gospel According to St. Matthew," as well as by the austerely allegorical "Teorema"), but because he forces us to keep shifting critical gears. No three Pasolinis are ever quite alike. At best, they come in pairs, like "Oedipus Rex"...
