A new optical retailer is due to locate on the Belt Highway in early spring. Eyemart Express — based in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, metropolitan area — will open at 908 N. Belt Highway by the end of next month, said media director Cory Dugas. Dugas said Eyemart Express already has a presence in Kansas City, and the company is considering the St. Joseph store as part of its expansion into western Missouri and eastern Kansas. “Part of the decision is, we’re opening stores across the country,” he said. The firm, which was founded in 1990, will feature discount prices and a one-hour service on customer orders of eyeglasses. Nike, Guess, Fendi, Calvin Klein and Armani designs are among its product line.
