Indeed, for all the inspired performances and brilliant designs that characterize Forum’s stunning new production of McDonagh’s The Pillowman , the real star of the show is its director, Yury Urnov. Urnov, who directed the acclaimed Marie Antoinette at in 2014 and who has actually published Russian translations of McDonagh’s work, animates this production with a vision that is both sweeping and intimate, alienating and inclusive. Urnov’s production is so successful because he completely nails the unholy McDonagh trifecta of violence/laughter/social commentary.

An Israeli company called Deep Optics thinks its new high-tech glasses lens can change that. The liquid can adjust the refractive index of the lens—the way it bends light passing through—to effectively change the prescription of the glasses according to the distance of the object your eyes are focusing on. Sensors in the glasses track the... Changes in pupillary distance, or the distance between the centers of the two pupils, indicate the depth of an object that a person is trying to focus on. A processing unit built into the glasses can use the pupillary distance to calculate exactly...

Fstoppers Reviews the Fujifilm XF 80mm Macro Lens

Fujifilm continues to wow us with each new lens, and their latest release, the $1,199 XF 80mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro lens, is no exception. I’ve been shooting with the XF 80mm now since its release, and I have to admit it’s only come off my Fujifilm X-T2 once. I don't claim to be a fabulous macro photographer, but I believe this lens has a home in most photographers bag. My beloved XF 50-140mm has, for now at least, taken a back seat to the smaller, amazingly...

Review: PogoTec, maker of glasses-mounted camera, looking way beyond photos, videos

Cameras mounted on eyeglasses historically have been flops. Google Glass was too expensive; Snap's Spectacles too elusive. And both were, well, hideous. Those failings aren't lost on Brendan Sheil, the CEO of PogoTec , which last month launched a lipstick-sized camera that can snap on to the frame of any glasses. Sheil, in an interview with the Tribune-Review, said Google Glass and Snap showed that fashion trumps function, especially when talking about technology that we wear....
