Every time you see Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller, he's probably wearing a new pair of glasses. The Broncos pass rusher spent Thursday at ESPN headquarters, and during a quick segment said he owns at least 120 pairs of glasses. He shares some with his brother, who has the same prescription, but he still sports a wide-ranging variety of eyewear. Some might say he's wearing them just because he likes to. But in an article for the Players' Tribune , he writes that he needs them. "These glasses are not a fashion statement," he writes. "I had to wear my glasses to play. I would strap them over the top of my helmet to keep my glasses in place, motocross style. I got called every name you can think of. But the thing about football is, it’s not the playground. If you call me four-eyes on the playground, you can laugh in my face and I can’t touch you.

How much one day flipped consumer appeal for DeSoto's Von Miller, Cam Newton - Dallas Morning News

Cam Newton and DeSoto native Von Miller are stylish 26-year-olds, the NFL’s first two draft picks in 2011 and the undisputed best at their playing positions. But when it came to leveraging their endorsement value on football’s biggest stage, Miller, a Denver Broncos linebacker, and Newton, the Carolina Panthers star quarterback, turned in decidedly different performances. Miller went from zero to hero in the eyes of consumers with his MVP play while Newton came off as a spoiled brat. Matt Delzell, managing director of the Marketing Arm, has the numbers to prove it. The Dallas-based promotions and marketing agency keeps tabs on how consumers feel about nearly 4,000 athletes, entertainers, politicians, musicians and other...
