SpecsOnTheNet is an online supplier of prescription glasses. A UK company founded in 2003 by Mark James and Jonathan Birch it was one of the first companies to supply prescription eyewear on the Internet and pioneered the use of virtual modelling software to allow customers to virtually "try on" glasses.
By supplying glasses direct from the laboratory and avoiding the overheads associated with running a high street store, SpecsOnTheNet is able to offer the same frames and lenses as a traditional optician but at substantially lower cost. This was made possible by the deregulation of the UK optical market in the 1980s.

It’s hard to believe, but we’re on the second-to-last Myst game already. Revelation was a game that stirred controversy among many core fans, but it was critically acclaimed and a great deal of the fanbase appreciated its achievements. Myst IV: Revelation was the second Myst game in a row to be developed outside of Cyan Worlds. Its development was handled by our old friend Ubisoft, whose villainies I have railed against many times since taking up blogging. It went so far as to hire artists who specialized in point-and-click games to preserve Myst ‘s aesthetic, and how many Triple-A studios do that these days.
