Purchase Glasses Online

Glasses Direct is an online retailer based in the United Kingdom that supplies discount-priced spectacles.
It was founded by James Murray Wells in 2004 joining the small existing sector of online retailers. It has recently received investment from two major venture capital firms.
It is also notable for the legal and regulatory attempts to close it down by several major bricks and mortar competitors.
In the UK a customer can go to an opticians (shop) on the high street and purchase a fixed price eye examination, from which the optician will issue a written prescription. This can then be used at any opticians to have spectacles made.
A common complaint is that the prices UK opticians charge for spectacles are too high. Such claims about UK prices are common in many...

Amazon files 'pay-by-selfie' patent application for online purchases - SiliconANGLE (blog)

Instead of entering a password or credit card number every time you want to purchase something online, soon you might just be able to take a selfie and have done with it. Retail giant Amazon. Having already patented one-click purchases, Amazon has decided that’s not enough, and would like shoppers – mobile using ones, we assume – to be able to buy items simply by snapping a quick selfie, instead of entering their password every time. Amazon’s thinking is that paying by selfie will be better for shoppers than using passwords, which can be forgotten or stolen, and can create ‘tension’ between friends and colleagues. “The entry of these passwords… can require the user to turn away from friends or co-workers when entering a password, which can be awkward or embarrassing in many situations,” it says in the patent application.

One of the most delightful soirees during spring event season is the Arlington Arts League Spring Gala, and this year’s party will be exceptional as the league celebrates its 20th anniversary. The art docent, ArtReach and scholarship programs that the league provides are a natural fit for arts patrons to enthusiastically support. Before the Cacharel chef serves a gourmet meal featuring turkey piccata and a chocolate pot d’cream finish, guests will nosh on scrumptious hors d’oeuvres at a reception while sipping libations served at a cash bar. Chairman of the event is Mark Williams, and Catherine Brown is president of the arts league.

How to Buy Quality Glasses Online, at a Discount, and Save!?
