The eighties and the greaties: A playlist I still grew up with 80s songs because they have such a distinctive feel to them. The plinking keyboard melody punctuated by heavy organ chords and guitar riffs is just scary, and towards the end, the song starts to veer off kilter. this song [...]

ALBUM REVIEW: "Stranger Things: Music from the Netflix Original Series" So, when the creators of the spooky series Stranger Things began inserting period-perfect pop and New Wave songs into the soundtrack – not unlike the way songs were placed in Donnie Darko, a smart, supernatural film set in the 1980's – it only got my [...]
"The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades" is a song by Timbuk3. It is the opening track from their debut album, Greetings from Timbuk 3. It was released by I.R.S. Records in 1986. The song made the Top 20 in the United States (#19) and the Top 40 in the United Kingdom (#21).

Tiga: From Montreal to ‘Planet E’ The other end had a cheesy, Euro-style – a late-’80s style ... I was at the Miami Music Conference [in 2002], and DJ Hell and some of the people from the German label, Gigolo, which put out “Sunglasses At Night,” were there. I met my first agent ... [...]

The weekendlong outdoor dance music massive and hip-hop extravaganza on...
The world of automotive advertising has never met a piece of hyperbole it didn’t like, or encountered a boundary it wasn’t willing to leap over, arms waving in the wind while screaming at the top of its lungs. While modern tastes might dictate a bit more restraint (or at the very least, higher production values) than advertisements of old, there was a period of time when car companies seemingly gave free reign to ad execs to get their brand in front of as many eyes as possible, no matter...
