Glare is difficulty seeing in the presence of bright light such as direct or reflected sunlight or artificial light such as car headlamps at night. Because of this, some cars include mirrors with automatic anti-glare functions.
Glare is caused by a significant ratio of luminance between the task (that which is being looked at) and the glare source. Factors such as the angle between the task and the glare source and eye adaptation have significant impacts on the experience of glare. Glare can be generally divided into two types, discomfort glare and disability glare. Disability glare renders the task impossible to view, such as when driving westward at sunset....

@LiverBerger Plot twist; she's actually looking at herself in the reflection of her sunglasses
I had contemplated this assignment ahead of time and even went to the dollar store to get a mirror for inspiration. Then I considered perhaps a reflection of the countryside in a pair of sunglasses, but that would require a willing model. My next brainwave came when one of my daughters decided she needed a ride to the shopping mall – use the car window to get a reflection of an urban landscape – brilliant. This is always the worst of the two standard unpaid “Uber” roles for a parent as there’s no definitive meeting time or place. Ho hum, thinks I, I can still do this as I’ll get there a little early and take time to position the car for its job as photographic canvas. As I did so, I saw the reflection of a this guy across the street begging money from cars at the stop signal.

These however reflect the radiations in certain percentages. It also brings down the amounts of thermal infrared radiations and visible light that the blinds will reflect indoors. The darker hues for example are capable of high absorption and the lighter ones achieve effective reflection.

Photo by Laura E. PartainRobyn Hitchcock, English art school alum and son of a novelist, has never been much of a literalist. For the most part, his songs are deeply imagistic affairs, little humorous snapshots of the sometimes absurd that snake their way through verses and choruses without any thought of narrative resolution. The song “Autumn Sunglasses,” off last year’s eponymously titled album, is a perfect example. The image of “the thing,” in this case a pair of autumn sunglasses, drives...
