The international singer and songwriter visited Johnson City’s Freedom Hall Civic Center for the first time since 2012 on Friday night to promote the release of his new album “Wonderful Crazy Night. Decked out in his signature sparkling black suit and sunglasses, John walked out to a standing ovation and opened with the song “Funeral for a Friend. John said his favorite song from “Wonderful Crazy Night” was “A Good Heart. Long-time John fans Bud and B. J. King, of Johnson City, joined hundreds who stretched around the building awaiting to enter before the concert. King said it was her fourth time going to an Elton John concert, and the first time she saw him was in 1974 in Knoxville.
