When you splash out extra for designer brands, what are you really paying for. In the latest episode, the show reveals that some designer sunglasses might not be all that they seem. According to the show, 80% of branded sunnies are actually made by the same company – Italian corporation Luxottica, who also own the world’s biggest sunglasses retailer, Sunglass Hut. That’s not the only shocker though – often pairs of shades that retail for hundreds of pounds are manufactured for up to £10, presenting a huge mark-up for Luxottica.
